Do red slime removers work?

    Don't worry about your silicate levels. Since our tanks are made primarily of silica (glass and silicone) if silica were really an issue and they actually leached then the silicon and glass would disappear. Personally I feel that cyano is inevitable in just about every tank at one time or another and yes I have used "red slime remover" to get rid of it. in the year and a half that my tank has been up, i have used it once and never had to bother again. just my .02
