do they make these bulbs

i found some small fluorescent fixtures laying around... they are 12 and 18in. and have those cheap flourescent bulbs from like home depot or walmart for freshwater tanks. i believe two prong for the pins?

but since im not using them for anything i figure id put them to use as actinics... do they make bulbs that might work in these crappy little fixtures?

 

You might try googling and seeing what's out there, maybe there's a bulb that works or a quick and easy modification that you can do to make it work. Keep us posted, that's an interesting topic to me, I have a fixture that's small like that, too.

 

I just got back from Menards -which is the same thing as Home Depot- and they do have T8 Actinic bulbs you can buy that size for like 8 - 13 dollars. They accually have an okay selection. They are pooly labeled, but I did see a couple aquarium lights, an atinic (or blue light), a 6.5k and another that didnt have a spectrum.

It's worth a look and they arent expensive.
