    I have often heard of dosing with vodka but my question is What does it help with?
    Or are your fish alchoholic's? j/k

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !

    You are basically adding a source of sugar ( carbon ). Certain bacteria benefit from it's increased levels and their numbers therefore increase. They then brake down nutritents at an excellerated rate resulting in systems that have 0 nitrates and decreased problems with algae development secondary to lower levels of available nutrients.
    There is some belief that the corals benefit as well from the presence of sugars.
    At least that is the way I understand it.:)

    I dose BRS Cal, Alk, and Mag. Also dose Kent phyto and zooplex occasionally. I do a 15% wc every 2 weeks.
