Well Im going to get a refugium for my tank. It's going to have 3 compartiments one for bioballs and such the other for the macro algae and te other one for skimmer and return pump I think.

I was thinking on adding a UV light but I'm not sure if it will kill my pods... So. Hence the question.

My UV filter says it will kill "small crustaceans" if the flow rate is low. A lot of people run them though and have good pod populations.

A lot of pods live in intertidal zones. When the tide goes out, they are stuck in tidepools getting zapped by UV from the sun all day long until the tide comes back. A UV sterilizer doesn't have much impact on pod populations.9

I don't have mine running, it needs a new bulb and I haven't bothered getting one.

My UV sterilizer has had zero visible effect on my pod population

If UV is pretty much useless against marine Ich, then copepods will be just fine.
