I wanted to know if you change the direction of your flow. (I.E. Turn your Koralias a different direction) If you do, why? I see the owner of my LFS reach in the tank now and then and move them for no apparant reason. I have never asked why. I move mine on occasion. Sometimes if I add a coral or the sand is moving too much.

Yesterday was the first time I ever readjusted my flow and that was because I increased flow from the return by 2x. But I have sugar sand so finding a pattern that doesn't cause a sandstorm is a PITA so for me it's easier to move corals.

I change mine to create what I hope is a better flow pattern in the tank.

Something I will need to watch out for when I get the new tank up and running since I bought sugar sand.

Huge PITA, really. I'll need to play with more tomorrow to get it right again...I got it down to just visible grains being kited around and not so much a sand storm before running out of time today.

once I find a sweet spot, I dont touch them. then coral adjustment/placement is adjusted if required.

unless i have a dead spot, I'll do a very minor adjustment.

I seemed to be always moving them when I had a mixed tank
it was very difficult to create areas of flow suitable for all the different species that I was keeping .

since moving out the majority of LPS and softies , I have found less need to adjust anything

as keeping mostly corals that appreciate the same conditions in terms of water movement has made it easier for me.

I leave mine be.1 is pointed at the surface and the other is bouncing off the front glass.I have to adjust the flow down as it's only a 20 long,if i move them any which way, stuff blows everywhere! lol !
