    I guess your not familiar with the outfit I work for. The labs we use are not by any means a "hobbyist lab", not with what we stand to loose ;) We ship to over 500 hatcheries, public aquariums and research facilities.

    You took that wrong :D I thought by your comment and the way ENC is formatted you might take it is a reef tank lab :) My only point is this lab specializes in seawater analysis, a very tricky and often misunderstood subject. Measuring seawater is not like measuring FW. I'll see you at MACNA ;).....#76

    I assume you were not BS me :lol:

    I have seen your link before. I have been there. I tried to help you guys straighten out this page ClorAm-XTM,

    Reed Mariculture - ClorAm-X

    while helping Randy out with this article

    Chloramine and the Reef Aquarium by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com

    Dr. John F. Kuhns said he would contact you guys and get it fixed. Sill not fixed :) Even Randy could not balance it :lol:nor can I for sure. So we will have to leave as is.

    OCl- + HOCH2SO3Na ® H2NCH2SO4Na + Cl-

    get that ® out of there or put in a à = activity or activity reaction. We don't use ===> but is better

    OCl- + HOCH2SO3Na ==> H2NCH2SO4Na + Cl-

    I did not check them all but this equation is still not balanced and maybe can't be, as we do not know enough about the end products. Even Dr. John F. Kuhns agrees/phone conversation. It is still great stuff. Other name Amquel, what Kuhns invented and patient-ed.

    5 O..........3H..........==> 4 O..........4H........
    OCl- + HOCH2SO3Na ==> H2NCH2SO4Na + Cl-

    All equation's must have the same number of elements on the left as on the right, otherwise they are not balanced and no such reaction can take place.
