I was just wondering when doing wc's and top offs if you dose prime in your RO/DI water? i have been and while topping off today i wondered if this was just a waste of the prime lol. Also duuuuude these things waste so much water hahaha, i hate opening my bills now, do you guys do anything special with your ro/di waste? i have been filling the washer with it, but i still end up throwing a ton down the drain and i hate to waste anything lol!

No, RO/DI should be pure so requires no supplements, additives or dechlor chemicals.

I am of the opinion all wastewater gets treated and reused or recharged so don't feel guilty about sending the brine to the drain. The water we are using today was here millions of years ago and will be here when we are gone, it gets recycled over and over via the hydrologic cycle.

I think they are hating the bill, not the actual water wastage.

How much is everyone's water bill... just curious.

I agree. Mine was about $160 last month but the water and sewer usage portion wasn't all that much. They include things like trash pickup, landfill fees, library fees, fire protection, meter reading charges, environmental assesments and more so it makes it seem huge when its called a "Water Bill".

They lump a bunch of services in there. I guess they don't rent enough books to pay their own way so everyone has to chip in.

I think the other issues have been resolved, but I would consider using the waste water for any plants you may have. If not, start a garden!

My water bill averages about 75-85 dollars a month including my 100gpd ro/di unit.

    kinda true.

in photosynthesis water is actually broken down into hydrogen and oxygen, then later on hydrogen and oxygen is recombined to make water. I guess its depends on how you define continual existence.

I get charged 3.50 for 700 gallons of water. the fees cost more then my water.
