Do you think that having 12 fishes in a 90 gal tank is too much? I think this is the reason why my no3 dont come down from 20pmm. What is your opinion?

I forgot to mention one more thing to you about the fish...Because you have such small sized fish as oppossed to having a large Tang, Grouper, Angel, Lion etc. the waste produced by these fish isn't to terrible detrimental to your parameters, in my opinion.
Plus, high nitrates will affect soft corals more so that stonies as when you think about twhere soft corals grow mainly, they grow in deeper regions of reefs where nutrient levels are lower than inshore where stonies are prevalent.

I read somewhere that it should max about out at an inch of fish per 3 gallons of water.
So with that it mind it would have to depend on the size of thoes 12 fish luna.

    Hey Lunatik,
Those all are small fish, however, the Kole and Yellow Tangs and the Foxface will get larger. That being said, you may be feeding too much since you have 12 fish in the tank and you are trying to ensure that they all get their fill...8) How are you doing with waterchanges...Is your skimmer producing a lot of skimmate?

To answer both, waste and baxter's questions, my math gives me 34" x 3gals = 102 gal tank so Im a little over the guideline. As for baxter's Q, I tried cutting back the feeding to two seaweed stripes daily, one cube of bloodworms on the next day, skipped one day, one cube of brine shrimp the next day, skip one day, one cube of mysis shrimp the next day. But my foxface, midas blenny and tangs where getting extremely skinny so I started to fed a little more. The cut backs where done for about 2 months and my no3 didnt go down at all. As for water changes, I do 20 gals every week or sometimes 10gals on wed. and the other 10 on sat. My skimmer looks to be working good, Theres some brown water on the bottom and some brown suds.

maybe 1 or 2 fish over but i dont think it would affect it that much.why not invest in something like a clam that keeps nitrates low?or anything else that does
