I loved how urchin look they are kind of mysterious i have been researching on them and i have read that they eat coralline and can chew on coral.

Is there anybody here can tell me if there is a chance i could still have one.

My tank is 120 gallons and i have some coral.

I went to a museum and they had corals and peacuful fish and they had 2 long spine urchin so im a little confuse if i can have one or not.

So could you tell me your experience with your urchin.

they will munch on coraline algae and are prone to knocking over frags

Def what he said... Also, it effin hurts if you get jabbed with spines. I'm moving tanks in the next few weeks and even though they are a pita, it will make it to the new tank

Gotta small pencil urchin (nothing to really look at) for my 90g that I got through John. The tank is relatively new (6mo) with minimal corals. I bought him along with a CUC to help with a GHA outbreak. Gotta say he's the GHA champ!!
I usually don't see him but when I do, hes grubbing down below where the last of the GHA is on rock. He did knock over some corals, minimal compared to what a great job he and his crew have done for the tank. Its about 110lbs of LR. The upper 2/3's of rock look almost bleached white.
Considering the GHA problem I had before, I think I'd do it again, but only 1 though.

I have 4 and love watching them, and have had no problems with them hearting any thing in my tank, and if something happened to them i would replace them with new ones.

Once the coralline was establish in my 75g system, we kept a long spiny urchin. I believe his grazing on the coralline only helped to stimulate it's growth.

In our current 120g, we keep a blue tuxedo urchin, and as seabass1 and homegrowncorals have commented, he is quite the algae muncher...with the tank at 10 months of age, I'm concerned that there is an insufficient algae supply for it...I will be adding one to the 40g seahorse tank....
