do you have to feed your anemone

hello everyone i just wanted to ask you a small question.

do you have to feed a anemone or frog spawn coral

and if so why. and would you feed them one time a week. and what would you feed them.

 

Yes, most people do..IT will do the same thing as feeding LPS,better color,better growth(splitting time)..I fed mine silversides.

For frogspawn ehh...its up to you, they dont need it. But it will have better growth.

depends, for anemone you have to feed them unless you have a hosted clown within it as the clown will force feed the anemone. i feed my bubble tip silversides about 3/4s the size of its mouth.
as for hammer coral i feed mine once a week with brine shrimp, blood worms, phytoplanton and other coral foods i use. some say its not necessary to feed hammer coral but its beneficial towards its growth

 

depends on the clown alot of clowns will pull food out of the anemone when its trying to eat, in a attempt to clean it.

I never fed mine. started off as one and split 6 times. I had a pair of maroons that I think fed it/them. I have also never target fed any of my corals. they get what they can when I fed cyclopeze. all did very well.

speaking of... I need to get some of that on my next trip up that way.

 

feeding will help the anemones alot(some more then others) but in many tanks its very important.

although some people feed foods that spread out in the water and the anemone catches enough to do fine.


also try different foods anemones will respond to certain types of foods more then others.
