I have the AquaC Remora and i hate the microbubbles it produces. Is it possible to only have it on during the nitetime?

Possible , but not very efficient IME

when you turn on a skimmer it takes a while to generate foam
and once its doing so, turning it off, means you start again the following day

IMO, yes you do need it on for it to perform at its peak.

the microbubbles ruin the appearance. I've been talking to Remora people and nothing has changed.

If you adjust it properly, it should not give a lot of bubbles.

+1 on that, IME I have a Deltec which is similar in principle and if I have the air to water mix to high then bubbles will make it beyond the de gassing plate
reducing the air, so it stays within the chamber should help

You can raise the cup up or down and make sure the water level is always the same, they also sell bubble traps for that skimmer

You adjust the height of the collection cup. Use the O-ring to keep it at the height you want.

How long have you had the skimmer?
How many and what species of fish do you have?
