So I happened upon an interesting article:

    Proper Skimmer Adjustment

First, what do you guys think?

I mean I know that I thought the waste pulled out needed to be dark and sludgy. I always thought if I was getting the tea-colored water that it wasn't working right. I'm in the process of breaking in my new skimmer now so it would be nice to know because I have been skimmerless for a LONG time now (years).

So how about it - do you skim wet or do you skim dry?

Mine gathers on the walls and feels like wet chalk.....
Please note though that I am also breaking in my skimmer and am still working on adjustments, lol.

I like to skim fast and heavy. I am not big on water changes, so I dose and skim heavy.

Also, what are everyone's arguments as to why they skim the way they do? Do you feel your way has a certain advantage over the other way? Are there any disadvantages?

I feel dry misses more---I guess it is all personal preference.
