    it is traffic related in Chinese also, so very similar meanings in both languages with these characters

    In Chinese
    4 characters top to bottom on left say "jiao tong an quan" and mean - traffic safety

    4 characters top to bottom in middle are " Tong Xing shou xing and mean - watch for signs - (traffic signs probably)

    So basically it's just like a reminder to obey the traffic laws and to be safe on the road?
