I have a 90 gal. reef tank. My current fish list is as follows,
    -yellow tang 6"
    -pygme angle 1.5"
    -6 line wrasse 2"
    -purple damsel 1.5"
I am wanting to add a purple tang and a powder brown tang but I thought I would get some opinions before adding because I dont want any fish to suffer for my mistakes.

3 tangs in a 4' tank is a recipe for disaster. it might work out as long as all of them are tiny, but after they start growing its going to get real cramped real fast. Seeing as you already have a pretty big yellow tang in there already that has established your tank as his territory any new comers (especially tangs) will get their butts kicked.

I tried adding a powder blue to my tank after my yellow had been in there for about a month. The yellow chased and harassed the PBT to death in 2 days, but before he died it came down with ich hard which infested my tank.

I wouldn't put 3 tangs in a 90. The purple tang and the yellow tang with almost certainly have aggression issues because they are both zebrasoma.

I would not do 3 tangs also the purple and yellow will most likely not get along

Do you think that I would be better off removing the yellow from the tank. I really prefer the purple tang over the yellow and have always wanted a power brown. would tank size still be a problem with these 2 fish?

I agree 3 tangs is too much for a 90, Also the Yellow and Purple are from the Zebrasoma family and mixing 2 tangs of the same family is a dangerous thing

I wouldn't put any two tangs in that size tank. If you prefer the purple I would see if you can take the yellow back to your lfs. If you do decide to try both I would add the powder brown first and let it get settled then add the purple.

I agree. Pick your tang and that is it. I want to put another in my 90g, but I am going to resist. I already have a hippo. When the hippo gets too big, I will capture, take it back and get another kind of tang. You can always play that game.

Thanks for all the advice I really appreciate it. I am sure the fish do also.
