Do you use a prefilter on your return pump?

    What costitutes protected. I used to work with a 3600 gph pump and we had to put a small chamber of mesh in front since we kept getting purred snail out the back. As long as you clean it so it is not clogging you should be fine

    Nope, no prefilter. Restricting the intake will reduce the life of the pump. Filters clog. A grate to keep bigger things out is a must.

    I use the rough grate that came with my MaxiJet, but nothing more.
