Do you use a prefilter on your return pump?

    lol.. i just snorted some coffee up my nose when I read that


    no filter here either, but had to pull a very lucky snail out of my return intake couple nights ago. the other snails must have dared him to clean the impeller

    Glad I asked. My mag pump came with one so I've been using it, but it does get clogged & by protected I mean it's in the 3rd chamber of my sump. I'll make a little grate to close off that bottom area where it's open.
