Always have always will run carbon 24/7 there is a camp that feels it will remove some beneficial elements from the water and that may be true ? But every study I have ever seen that said it did I have seen 3 more saying it does not.. And as I once told a expert Dr, So what if it removes some good elements I also means it remove just as much bad stuff and I can replace the stuff I need or deem good .. And my rocks won't become killer rocks , As some experts rocks do ! LOL

I still use mine although I have other far more adequate filtration, my tank is healthy so I don’t change the set up. This poll got me thinking though, What class of active carbon do they put in our tank materials?

Laboratory grade, research grade, premium grade, mid grade, BBQ grilling grade???

Okay, I know it’s not BBQ grade, but really, is anyone more familiar with the grade of the carbon that is used?
