doea any one no what these things may be?

Hi everyone,
i have been looking at my tank when the lights have been off and lateley i have been spotting there little things that look to me like they may be baby shripm or somehitng, my reason for thinkging they may be baby shrimp is i have a pair of coral banded shrimp , and the female has had eggs a few time. but to me i think that these wierd little critters may even lok a bit more like prawns to me, you can see right through them like there shell is made of glass kind of thing, they are maybe like 2 or 3 mm big atm, i was just wondering if anyone could help me sorry for the poor discritopn and no pic but a bit hard to take a pic at night of something so small.

 

from what your describing sounds like they are copepods good scavengers some posted a article on here about them just go to search and type in copepod they are very good to have they are a big part of the bio break down process

 

hitman, i ahve jsut been researching these copepods on google looking at the pictures but these pictures do not look much like what i have come across in my tank. my resons are mainly that when ever i see these little things they have there tailed curled up like prawns.. i will try and get some pics tonight, but might be a bit hard

 

check out amphipods or isopods

 

i looked at images of amphipods and it seems to me that they are what i have in my tank. are they good bad or otherwise? thanks alot for your help.

 

amphipods are good to have
