    Why don't you just move the entire cycle back. Have the lights come on later in the morning, say around 11-12, then daylights around 1-3 then the daylights off around 8-9 and then everything off around 11-12. You get your 12 hour cycle and you get to see your tank with it's daylights on. I've done this and it works out fine.
