I'm trying to reduce phosphates and nitrates in my tank and bought a little pouch of phos-x, it says it removes phos and nitrates(it was pretty cheap),but was just wondering if it really works like they say it does?I'm getting ready to do a 20% water change and thought i'd ask before using it.

never heard of it. just do your water change and after that try this phos-x out. do tests before and after use of product. most people recommend GFO phosphate remover as a great product. I personally use it and recommend it. water changes alone will help with nitrates, but only doing 20% wont put a big dent in it. need to do more if you got a really bad nitrate problem.

Thanks Night Rida,my nitrates are only 20 and i don't test for phos (will get a kit soon) i had 2nd diatom bloom about a week or so ago,but it's starting to cover everything,i have switched to ro some time ago,and am assuming i still have phosphate from the tap water i used(but i'm just assuming, and you know where that gets ya)So i'm just trying to nip it in the bud.
