Does anyone know how to find out how many gallons a tank is?

    I bought this used tank and was told it is 70 gallons. I kkep looking at it and it is big and heavy, but something dont seem right to me. So, i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to find out how many gallons my tank is useing.... ewwww.... math. not by the obvious, putting water in and counting the gallons.

    the tank dimensions is 12.5Wx48Lx19H

    Length (in inches) X Width (in inches) X Height (in inches) / 231 = gallons of water. If you measure the inside dimensions of the tank the number will be more accurate.
    12.5X48X19/231=49.35 gallons

    I knew something was wrong. I got ripped off. they told me it was 70 gallons, but its 55.
