Alright i was thinking of building 2 sets of switch boxes, one for my stand and another for in my fish room. I wanted to set up a line of switchboxes that could be plugged straight into a surge protector or something along those lines which in return would have an outlet on the bottom of it to plug single pieces of equipment where all i would need to do is flip a switch and my equipment turns off. It could make it a hell of a lot easier for feeding time, maintenance on individual pieces of equipment etc without fumbling through a bunch of wires. Has anyone done this or know how to do this or get parts for this?

if you are then it involves rewiring your wall which includes possibly getting behind the wall and running new wires one direct set of wires from one switch to that outlet now you can do what my tank has .... i have a cord running from the wall to under my tank then i have 2 6 way adapters from there my lights are on one set of six ways and then i ran a cord to a box under my tank that has a switch on it then the switch is wired to another six way that has my pump and powerheads so we can turn them off at feeding time. but you do have to reach under the tank to flip the switch

not the wall, like something that could be plugged in and it would have a switch on one side and say an outlet on the other to allow control without climbing under the stand

Cool, because otherwise you are looking at wiring up your own switches I think.

Wait till after Christmas and get a Christmas tree light remote switch on clearance sale.

I got a nice one with a foot switch. It's like the Staples EASY button.
