Try Liveaquaria.com .Look under marine fish and then under dragonets. They usually carry them. Good luck!

Make sure that you have a mature tank with lots of copepods and amphipods, or the mandarin will starve to death. Take the statement that they will eat processed food with more than a grain of salt.

I have 80 pounds of liverock in my 55 gallon that is 1 year old. There is pods and other fauna but I think that that coral banded shrimp that I see poking its claws into every crevis at night is keeping them under control. Mabey I need to rethink this. Mabey banish the shrimp to the other tank and wait till I see the pods numbers increase. There still is lots of them in this tank. Does anyone else have one? Will they eat all the pods then starve? Has anyone else had one eat those pellets like the one in Birdladys post? I was surprised when I saw that lawnmower blenney take those pellets.

    Thanks for the links everyone.

Well, as I mentioned in my post, training them to eat prepared food is a feat unto itself.

If I were you, I would try to work with your LFS and either wait until they get one you like, and ask to see it eat. Or, let them know you want one that is eating prepared foods, and perhaps to call you when one comes in. Ordering on line, you won't have that luxury.

Yes, they can eat all the pods then starve to death if not eating prepared foods. I am waiting until my pods in my fuge are ridiculous so I can take from there and add to my tank as needed. ;D

I hope to someday get a pair :)

You could buy pods every couple of months. 20 bucks for a bottle that you empty at the bottom of your tank near the liverock. For some reason I have realy only seen blue ones eating food other than live

I have 2 Dragonettes and I only have a 46 gal with 52 lbs of LR, and my two eat blood worms all the time. They have no problem using the rock for snacks, and the bloodworms in the evening. No problems at all.
