Since I haven't received any PM, my speech obviously failed. Oh well, then I guess I will give you some tips for selling.

One of the things I did was sell Xenia Elongata to the LFS's in the area. I found a LFS that acutally paid me $10/full grown stalk. I put a rack in my fuge, 4" from the surface of my fuge, added a 150 watt MH, ran it on a reverse lighing cycle with my main lights and was able to pump those out at a rate of $25 - 30 stalks per month. After I got into chalices, I stopped as I was able to sell those for far more money.

If you really want to make really good money, you will need to grow the corals that are in demand. That said, you need to keep them colorful, and also be a skilled photographer to command top dollar. When I was selling frags, I had to buy a DSLR, buy an acrylic photo box, take photography lessons, ect... Here in SoCal we had a lot of opportunities to sell frags at swaps and shows. At those I was able to bring in $500 - $1000, at the shows I could make $1500 - $2500. I was also invited to sell frags out of Warner Marine's booth to attract customers a couple of years and was able to earn $5500 + a $2500 Giesemann fixture (in Atlanta) and that was after expenses. It was fun but now I just don't have the time to sell like I used to. I usually have other friends of mine sell frags of mine when they do sale threads on the forums.

Most importantly, if you are going to sell out of the home, you will be inviting complete strangers into your home. Hopefully they won't help themselves to your valuables when they are there. We had a local selling frags from his tank to another local. The buyer asked to buy a chalice frag that needed to be cut. When the seller went into the garage to cut the frag, the buyer reached in the tank and pocketed a Tyree Purple Monster colony. Just be careful and always keep your eye on the stranger in your home.

Yes good money can be made,my tank is 95 gallons and 2-3 times a year i make 100's.You have to grow the right corals, namely sps. There's no tyree or ora frags in what i sell, just nicely colored acropora.A lot of frags i just sell for 10 bucks, and their at least a couple of inches high.Mini colonies go between 20 -30 bucks.I have to drive over 3 hrs. to an annual frag swap and fuel costs 100 bucks return.I get that back plus a couple of hundred bucks, and see happy buyers.

Mostly just swap heads up with a few other reefers I have met through my job. I have one customer with a 250 gal at home and a 500 gal at his office. Down side we have almost identical corals and fish lol.
