I got my RO/DI unit. It reads 4-5 ppm. Does it really need to be 0 TDS?

    Thanks

No, 4-5 is fine. O is better but 4-5 is acceptable. Many people run RO without DI and don't worry. I would tell you what mine is but I don't want you to let your guard down.

+1 0 is ideal, mine runs around 2 after a 100 gallons or so and its fine IMO

Thanks for everyone's response. I've been reading and researching about this, and some people say it "HAS TO" be 0, some people say acceptable if below 5.

Thanks gcarroll. Yeah, I thought 4 is pretty good, in comparison to 156 ppm coming in from my tap. But people say it's not good enough.

nah maybe a touch of cyano in my sump, but my DT is too clean, I'd love to grow a little algae in there for my cuc but can't, my tangs eat it before it even shows up

honestly, I know theoretically 0 is ideal and should be obtained, but 2-5, come on, thats nothing IMO, I'll wait for AZdesertRat to refute this, but I'm fine with it. I run my DI resin forever though, but if my tanks happy, I'm happy

Thanks Cosmo. When I've done my research, I came across AZdesertRat comments in different forum. I am pretty sure, he's going to say 0 ;D
