    Does the skimmer activity (amount of skimmate produced) related to the number of live stock in the tank like fishes ,anemones and invertebrates ??
    because my Weipro 2012 doesn't produce good amount of skimmate in the cup while i have no fishes in my 30 gallon tank with number of anemones and 3 hermit crabs
    nitrate = 5mg/l
    nitrite = 0

    Low bio load = less skimmate.

    Also, if you are putting your hands in the tank a lot the oils from your skin, or any soap that wasn't washed off properly, will inhibit bubble formation in your skimmer as well.
