I am using two layers of window screen, one underneath the eggcrate and one on top. People suggest to use either pond netting, which the holes were to big or screen net. So i got screen net. Now i'm thinking that it's blocking a good amount of light.

I would assume any solid object is going to block at least a little light. what are you putting the screen up for ?

it was suggest to do something because some said firefish would be able to jump through the holes of the eggcrate.

If this doesn't work i'm going to do the acrylic idea

only problem with the acrylic idea is i don't think it would be possible to cut areas for equipment plus the bowfront shape and i don't think my dad would have any tools to cut acrylic

So i think im stuck with eggcrate and window screen. I just don't know much the window screen will affect corals though. I'm hoping to get SPS down the road *not any time soon* so i don't think it will affect softies or LPS. But i just worry about the difference

If you are talking about like the screen for a window or door to keep bugs out, that blocks a substantial amount of light. Id suggest not using it. Especially 2 layers. There has been like 5 threads on this same topic in the past week...
