That tank could use some maintainence but it doesn't look bad. I don't believe in regular water changes and my tanks look great. Granted I don't keep sps or lps yet, but everything looks much healthier when left alone. I'm going on 3 months since a water change in my 29 and its never looked better. This is a highly debated topic that is never ending.

I dont know if the potential bland looking coloration is from water or dare I ask what the age of the bulbs are? Something gives me the feeling they have lit up better days.

My thoughts exactly, emphasis on "very". A little work/maintenance/commitment can get you a lot more.

I agree with all of you. The colors surely are not there, but i guess it comes down to "thats not my tank" You can really tell the difference between the people who put alot of work into theirs, to the people who dont. You get what you work for!

There is one good thing to take away from this tank though: That the owner is providing tank stability, and that is something alot of people need to take a little bit of learning in. I cant think of the countless threads where people add this, move that, change this too and jsut put thier tank thru non-stop change. Those non stop changes and additives of what the forum or LFS says is hot can be just as hard on the tanks occupants. Is there room for improvement sure, but there is room in probably everyones tank for that.

Those photos aren't the best color wise but I wouldn't say the corals 'are not doing well at all.' Interesting. I'd like to know more about his husbandry. I agree that providing stability and routine is a big deal. Adding buffer is good, curious about mag and if he adds that.

Some of the corals are pretty bullet proof, keeping the SPS for a long time would be impressive though.

Because is clear the corals are not doing well, and is also clear if they are not doing well there is no stability going on. I don't think is that hard to understand. Who said a stability tank will give you corals with struggling colors, bleaching, to a point where they are dying. There is no stability in that tank.
