Brand new tank and jsut added sand & rock ... got a nice big branch and put it in the tank ... saw these out and waving at me through the glass a minute afterwards .. if they're not aiptasia (dont look glassy) should they be in a high flow current? The output from the put hits the glass in the back and wraps around to hit this branch head on...

Great pics, watch it and see how they react to the flow. It does not look as though they are unhappy right now. I have no idea what they are.

    Welcome to 3reef BTW.

I dunno, it doesn't really look like they have a central mouth in the pics. I've seen nudibranchs that kinda look like that, have they ever moved? I have not yet seen an anemone that looks like that(that is that small), they look really cool!!

    Squisy things

Havent's seen them get up and move yet ... so far they've been in there an hour. When I turn off the pump and the current is still they will "wave" on their own. Before I put in the rock I did notice them but they looked like lumps of squishy gunk. I'm hoping the flow isn't to bad. I'll have to keep a watch.
As for journaling this it's time to get out the camera!
BTW, I tried taking a pic with a digital camera and my iphone .. it wasn't until I used a LED flashlight with the iphone that the autofocus instantly caught on ...

Yep, with a megaflow in the back. 20 gallon sump on the bottom. Just added lots of new rock so for the next couple of weeks I'm going to be ooing & awwing everything I see crawling around..
I did see something swimming against the current in the shadowy depths ... clear and about the size of a small popcorn kernel....

When your water clears you should have loads of fun seeing new and unexpected finds. Enjoy and take your time with your cycle. Let it complete before you add anything else. Keep your lights on as little as possible until the cycle completes to keep nuisance algae to a minimum.

Cool, I thought it was a 46bow at first then realized how big the sump looked so I knew it had to be bigger. I have a 46 and its nice but i'm only 6 months into this and I really want to do a 6' (120 or 150) tank. I already owned this tank so it was a good way to break my wife in on the reef tank and shes in love with it too. Anyway, welcome to the forums here and good luck with the new tank. Keep the pics coming - by tomorrow the water ought to be cleared up pretty well. When I first did mine I just ran my fluval with polishing pads in it for a day to get out all that floating junk quicker. Then I tossed the pads.
