My Jack Russell has had them twice in the ten years I've have had her. I freaked out the first time. The vet said it happens sometimes and not to worry. If I were you I would call your vet and see what they say.

    Sorry to hear :(.

Good thing you timed it. or have the knowledge of that. It helps the vet out greatly. Take him in to get checked up as soon as you can. Most local vets here will scoot you in as soon as possible or direct you to an emergency vet that is on call or such.

Working at a Veterinary Clinic for a while back in the past... It is a scary thing to deal with. It could be a numerous things that could have caused it. Infection, Blood sugar and parasites are more common IME with the ones that came in to our clinic.

Get him to the vet ASAP! and Best of wishes!

They are so strange. After he finished the seizure he just got up and walked away. Now he is back to normal. Scared me half to death!

Because of Lady and the Tramp Cockers were breed to much and inbreeding and such other various issues and they developed a bunch of problems like any other purebred.

I was picky about the blood line in my purebred So Hopefully I dont run into that issue.

My pugs both had seizures, and they are very scary to watch. Have you ever noticed him doing anything strange, ie staring at the corner, licking his chomps, or blinking rapidly? My avatar pug would do this for about a year or two. I knew it was seizures, but I had a hard time getting someone to listen to me (I ended up changing vets over it). Then one day he went into a several hour seizure. I rushed him to the vet and it took a long time to stop it, with a lot of meidcine. They said it was more then likely epilepsy and that he was having mini seizures when he did those odd things. They placed him on seizure medicines and he did alright with them. He would have breakthrough seizures a couple times a year. When on medications, it doesnt necessary prevent them from happening, but it raises the threshold for them. I noticed that he had his really bad seizures when he would get overly excited, so I tried to keep him as calm as possible. Then my other pug developed those little odd events, starring off into space, drooling etc. So he got started on medications and he eventually became epileptic

What you want to do is think about the past several months. Has he acted anything odd, has he had any other seizure before, has he possibly gotten into something. The vets told me that they dont like to generally put a dog on medication if they only have a few seizures because it can cause toxicities and hurt their liver. I would have to get both my dogs blood panels done every 3 or 4 months.

you definatly need to get it to the vet for a check up!

My grandmother's mixed bred would go into then often. He was finally put on meds because they would be random but often. Get your pup to the vet!
