    It's not lazy, it's nature. Time is a construct of man, and a fairly recent one at that. Fish, corals, and other creatures in nature don't abide by metered time, so why should our tanks? I have a digital timer that actually alters the one/off time of lights by the date to mimic natural light cycles. I have it set for no DLS, 6mo offset, and whatever latitude I looked up as being equal to Hawaii. That way the lights are on longer in the winter when the tank natural runs a bit cooler.

    Just because we change our clocks doesn't mean the sun rises an hour earlier than it did the day before.

    my fish seem to have noticed the lights staying on later, its 10pm and daylights are still on, actinics would have been off 45 minutes ago and looks like some of the fish are already going to bed :lol: they still have have a bit longer with the daylights before they go off and then its the actinics for another 45minutes then its lights actincis then moonlight

    so maybe the fish do notice a difference :)
