    they are spreading like crazy, comes out of my live rock, look like some kind of weed or something, but is alive, pink in color with stem and arms looks like a spider head. will go all the way back in the live rock when it gets scared. Produces like crazy

    It could also be feather dusters, which wouldn't.

    I agree, try to take a pic with the "macro" function of your camera and post it here. If you don't have a camera handy, cell phone pics some times work too.

    Aiptasia are a type of anemone. Purple or brown, sometimes perfectly clear, and always transparent. They spread like nuts. If it is Aiptasia, I'd reccomwnt peppermint shrimp, or if it's large, some Aiptasia X

    Sounds like feather dusters to me. Aiptasia usually doesn't retract into rock when startled. Feather dusters are harmless filter feeders.

    Pics are definitely a must to ID for sure.
