I have been cycling for about a week now, and I have noticed this on my live rock. It has moved around a little bit on the rock, just not sure what it might be and if it might be bad for the tank. From what i have noticed there seem to be a couple of these on the rock. Any thoughts would be nice. Sorry the pics didnt turn out a little better

doesn't look like aptasia, maybe a majano anemone, or some weird anemone? I really can't get a good look, sorry.

There is one thing that i forgot to add. There are times when it closes itself up. Do you think its bad for the tank?

Looks like a feather worm. The ones that grow in the rocks. If so, they are safe.

majano anemone no (can over run tank and sting corals). Feather worm yes (harmless filter feeder. Will remove nutrients from the water column).

If it was a feather worm there would have to be two really close together. In my experience feather worms like to space themselves out.

It is hard to tell from the pictures they are kind of blurry.

I think its a majano anemone, especially if you say it was moving around the tank. feather dusters will grow and move but they dont have a foot they can move like a majano anemone. You can wait until it gets bigger and then kill it off, or you can reasearch on how to kill pest anemones and do it now. you dont want those in the same tank as your coral, but if its not moving and its not near your coral (assuming you put something in there) then it really wont be bad. Unless it starts to multiply a lot and then it can over run your tank like said above.
