Don't know which way to go, DIY or reefbreeders controllable fixture.

So after careful thought and consideration I think I will be getting LED instead of MH next summer when I do my summer upgrading (university student on a limited budget throughout the rest of the year :( ), So anyways I was looking at the reefbreeders led system and from what I can tell they're actually nice systems for a half decent price half decent being something I can afford. I'm looking at the value ones, Choice #1, bridgelux or cree? It is my understanding that cree gives off more par and last longer than bridgelux, but is this worth the extra 100$ initial investment? and if i remember correctly they use less energy. Now when I get this is it better to get dimming? Like does it add that much more functionality. Well now that I think of it I guess so because you get sunset and sunrise correct? Now I have a 90g and was wondering what optics to get I think I would be able to pull off 60's if i have to fixtures just would have to play with the height. Let me know if I missed anything typing this up while waiting for a lab. Thanks!

If you are not upgrading to LEDs until next summer, there is no point in looking into ANY fixture right now. All of the fixtures out now will be improved or thrown away by that time.

yupppp! I appreciate the forethought, but anything you read today will be history by next year and half the cost! reefbreeders lights this time next year will be AWESOME!

By next year, the value series will likely be 100% different, and better. Cree XT-Es should make their way to China by then, and bridgelux may update their stuff too.

It is the same deal with technology, if you wait there will always be something newer/better out. The question is if you always wait for the new thing, will you ever buy anything?

Okay so basically I'm just wondering what to do in terms of lights I know I want LED but the question is do I go manufactured or DIY. In my defence I would have no problem doing DIY but I like the look of Reefbreeders new fixture, but the question is can I buy one now and still keep my tank going and just buy another one in a couple months?
