Don't think a refugium will fit. Suggestions?

Hello. I have a 125g tank with high nitrates ( currently in progress of bringing them down). I have a undersized wet/dry and a MRC-MR2 skimmer with double beckets that sits infront to the left with pvc piping water to it.. I have a small CPR hang on fuge. Now the problem is that my stand is built with 3 doors each 16" wide with about 28" to the wall with two more braces in the back of the stand. Also My tank has a back to the wall, left side to stone pillar type thing and right side has about a foot or two of clearance( a 5g bucket is about 4 total inches from touching both sides, and it's facing the outside wall.

Here are some of my solutions:

    1. Build one while its in the stand ( almost impossible)
    2. Get two small one and plumb together(could work but how would it work. Has about 25in clearance but anything about 15-18in I can't get to the top.

If you have ANY solutions, I'd like to know

    Thanks!;D

I have the same problem however I think I can barely squeeze a 29gal tank in when I do go from my wet/dry(that I turned into a ghetto fuge). I also considered putting in two small ones side by side but without an overflow box I was never able to figure out how to do it safely without risking a flood.

I saw someone stack them in a way under the tank, like one on a shelf above the other. I will have to say it looked very complicated and tight, to say the least. If you did that you'd have to connect them with an overflow box to be safe.

Yea, my thinking was by the time I got anything smaller than 29g(still to see if it would fit) the overflow box wouldn't fit/take up to much space. I'll see about dimensions of 29g.

Did dimentions, should fit but your right, just barely. This turned into a sump/fuge, would this be enough in place of wet/dry? Looking to buy some used MH's ( have solaris G series currently) so I don't want to spend a whole lot.

I had a similar problem with my 72g tank stand. I wanted to use a bigger tank for my sump/fuge but it wouldn't fit through a door. So I used two 10g tanks and plumbed them together. You can see a description here.

So can I just unhook the wet/dry and put in the refugium? Would that cause a ammonia spike? I'll look into the double 10's

Ok i did more precise measurements. 90% sure it won't fit. By the time I get the 31in in it barely fits diagonaly. IT's close though, sort of like to try but I don't want to waste the money.
