    Thanks

Thanks everyone for your advise. All in all it looks like my CUC may be a little weak. I'll be adding more as soon as I can acquire them.

    Red slime

Saw what looks like the beginning of red slime today - skimmer is pulling out a lot of crap - fugue looks like a swamp thing.

    More CUC

Well - what I thought might be the starting of Red Slime was not.:)

Added 24 more Hermit Crabs (which immediately went to work on the algae build up on the rock). Also added an Emerald Crab and a Turbo Snail.

    Hope this works!

Try feeding the fish every other day and maybe stop feeding the corals for now, they should be fine with just the light.

Thanks for the advise GuitarMan - I'm also considering taking back to my LFS:

    • 1 Lyretail Anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis)
    • 2 Spotted Cardinal (Sphaeramia nematoptera)
The Anthias is a high energy heavy polluter and the Cardinals don't perform any real function.

    Leaving me with:
    • 1 Orangespot Diamond Goby (Valencienna strigata)
    • 1 Bristletooth Tomini Tang (Ctenochaetus tominiensis)
    • 2 Percula Clownfish (Amphiprion percula)
    • 1 Purple Firefish Goby (Nemateleotris decora)
And adding a Wrasse - perhaps a: Exquisite Fairy Wrasse - (Cirrhilabrus exquisitus)

Live rock clean - now about the sand

Added 24 more hermits and a turbo snail. Rock is now clean, but they haven't been a help with the sand. What would be a good choice for keeping the sand clean?

fill out this form and john will email you back a very detailed CUC recommendation!

make sure you include what you already have in the tank so he doesn't duplicate, then check out his prices because I usually find it's cheaper to order from him even with shipping than it is to visit the LFS.

    good luck
