Ok for every one that read my last post oobviosly I wasn't actually happy that my fish died. My sea horse and hawk fish are in two different tanks and all I was trying to do is see if there is anything else I could do to lower my nitrates. And I havnt bought any new fish.and I no not to buy any untill the problem is fixed. Thank you.

How long has the tank been set up? what filter system are you running. Seems to me that something is majorly wrong for fish to be dieing like that.

the title is disturbing. and what is a hawk fish and seahorse doing in the same tank. the hawk will easily outcompete the seahorse for food

the nitrate is way too high for a sea horse. I wouldnt get any fish until you get your nitrates at a stable 20 to 30 ppm.

do 50 percent water change twice this week and then see why you have rough water

Sea horses belong in specialty tanks!!! And to answer your question, NO it's not cool you've been killing all your fish. Your tank has to be way overstocked and my guess is you are probably an irresponsible reefkeeper. I'm feeling sorry for the rest of your fish. I wouldn't be waiting 2 days for another water change. Fresh saltwater is going to be better than that tainted water in your tank.

We're going to need some more info. What exactly is your filter system? Where do you get your water from? How many fish, what types? How much do you feed? Skimmer? Something is going on that is causing that high of nitrates. How do you test for nitrates BTW? Most test kits don't even go close to that number.

Prime won't do anything for nitrates, and from that it sounds like your using tap water as there's no need to use that for Ro/Di water. Try testing your source water for nitrates, see what you get. Also, what is your maintenance schedule like?

im glad someone said it. Max C. i dont know what was your aim with this thread but it seems you have disappointed many reefers. your attitude towards this seriously disturbs me. please dont buy anything more until you've read some useful books on the Reef Aquaria for begginers

not trying to sound like a jerk but i do hate to see life pass due to the ones unwillingness to gain knowledge
