I have an aqua euro USA with a built in filter I either mix my own water or get it from the lfs. In one tank I had two sea horses and some coral and in the other two clowns an anthias and a hawk fish and a green mandrinfeed em one cube of mysis shrimp every night. No skimmer currently(building it) and my test kit goes to 160ppm.

what are the dimensions of these tanks? the aqua euro site had only two sizes, 12 and 28 gallon. in my opinion, even if you have the 28g you are overstocked, especially if you don't have a skimmer to handle the bioload. every type of anthias i know needs a larger tank (most belong in a 70 or larger). also, how long have you had your mandarin? i'm afraid that there's not enough rock/pods to keep him happy in a 28g tank.

on a helpful note, imo you're overfeeding an overstocked tank and you don't have a skimmer to help you out. too many fish + too much food - skimmer = crappy water. do a series of water changes and cut back your feeding (if it were me i would go at most half a cube every other day). this should help until you can get a skimmer installed. I personally have 2 clowns, a dwarf angel and a 6line in a 50g and i feed half a cube 3 to 4 days a week.

Keep in mind guys that the OP is obviously frustrated and is on 3reef to find answers to his problems and some help, not for rude criticism. If you have constructive criticism, state it and add your suggestion for a resolution and move on. Not talking to everyone, but the guilt party knows who they are.
Max, rather than revising a post over and over, try reposting so everyone else has a better understanding of your predicament. I agree that you need to do a rather dramatic (about 50%) water change.

Guilty partys... thats a joke and i love it how he can change the original post to begin with. Honestly, i don't hold max accountable completely for these deaths. These stores just hand these things out to whoever has a couple bucks. So go ahead and point the guilty finger this way.

And max... one question for you. How did you use that AiptasiaX I read you used is other posts. From what i read, one bottle has about 100 doses. Wondering how you were applying it too. Were you adding it to the water or directly to aiptasias? Now i'll move on just like swagger said to.

NU-2reef said it well.... it was all his attitude.

    Max,
Need more information. But from what I can tell there is too many fish in the tank. Because of this your way over feeding and the result is through the roof Nitrates

Two things jump out at me. 160 ppm of Nitrate sounds like the test is off either from user error or bad kit. Did you check your water with a LFS?
Secondly, cut down on the feeding. A whole cube is a bit much and you say you are feeding at night, don't know what you mean by night, if truly when the lights are off and tank is dark, some fish won't scavenge and food may not be being eaten. Feed less than half of what you are feeding now in the morning or at noon.
I would not do a 50% water change until you find out the test is correct.

He has another tank that has zero nitrates so I'm assuming his test kit is ok but you know what assume means. I'd still get the water checked somewhere else.

I have checked my water with the lfs and they said it was fine but I did my own test becauase I don't want to completely rely on the lfs because they have gotten my water wrong b4. And wen I feed them the light is still on, just later in the day. And thank you I will feed them less and less often. BTW my tank is the 28g

Thank you and my LFS said it was ok to have the anthias??hmm??? I agree with you about fish stores but is was part my fault. And I put the aiptasiaX directly on the anemone. That's wat it said to so on the box.

Thank you, and I was going to do one yesterday day but my LFS was closed and I only had enough for a 25%cuz my other tank needed a water change so should I do a 50% today????
