I dont have a quarantine tank but I do have 5 gal bucket, should I remove her and place her there and then medicate? If I leave her in the tank then she can infect others right ?

a 5 gal bucket will do more harm than good. Catching her will likely stress both her and the other tank mates. Making ich worse. What temp is your tank at ? I've read that a slight increase in the temp can 'fasten' the ich life cycle. Just increase the feedings and soak it in garlic/vitamins and hope for the best.

just m2c so take it for what its worth.

how long have you had Dori? Tangs are notrourius for ick, esp hippo tangs. I personally would not move her, it will be to stressful!
Couple things, is she eating? Is there algea in the tank for her to graze? What are your params, and what else is with her?

Fish can often times fight off ick themself. Make sure you feed good quality food, soaked in amino acids and vitamins and garlic, supply seaweed or algea or even romaine lettuce in the tank for them to graze on. I actually found a really great product. Yesterday I was helping out at the store and tehy got in this one tang, I had never seen it or even heard of it before, but it was very expensive. It was not eating, tried mysis, RODS, this mush from the store, nothing. I went to the shelf and grabbed this product from Instant Ocean called a seaweed grazing block and plopped it in her tank. She had inhaled that product and started to pick the mysis off the bottom of the tank!

Parameters are all normal, had her for 2+ years and just moved her from 65 to a 90 2 weeks ego. She was fine untill about 3 days ego, today its the worth. She used to eat algee built up all around the tank but since its all gone she has been eating brine and flakes. I will get some garlic and vitamins tomorrow. Thanks for advice.

I had the same problem, and I used Selcon to supplement feeding. Adding garlic can help too. The ick didn't spread to any other tank mates.

Reduce the stress on your fish, and take steps to boost its immune system.

I still supplement with Selcon once or twice a week, and my hippo has been ich free for ages now.

Romaine and Other Lettuce has Zero nutritional value to the fish. its a very foreign item. I fyou are out of nori, you can substitute the seaweed used for sushi rolls. It is found at most grocery stores. Ive used that for years and have some very fat Healthy tangs and havent seen Ick in over 5 years.

agreed, however i have found when you have a tang that isnt eating well, they will go after the romaine faster then the seaweed sheets. Once they get back to eating then you can add the seaweed sheets. I placed 2 nori sheets in my tank a day, and about 2x week would add romaine also.
