    Thanks for the compliment.

I understand that the canister doesn't require an overflow box, but wouldn't it at least help to eliminate surface scum? At least by way of surface agitation? Right now the only real surface agitation I have is when I aim the outlet of the canister upwards. This is pretty noisy and not it's intended purpose.

I see what you mean now Doratus

I would consider adding some additional water movement devices anyway
as the return from a cannister is not a lot of flow

have you tried the spray bar under water and slightly angled upwards - as I found that a much quiter way to run them when I had one

but a couple of wavemakers on either end, aimed at the surface will prevent that surface scum from accumulating there anyway

    Thank you, thank you.

The shrimp seems to have a short antennae. Will this grow back? (in the picture it is the bottom antennae on the left side)

Missing extremites usually come back with succeeding molts.

Added about 25 lbs of base rock to put me at about 40 lbs of rock. That give me room to add rock that have coral colonies on them and what-not. It's still nothing spectacular but I'm proud of myself. :D

The second pic shows the back wall, do you think that is too much room back there? I read somewhere it was a good thing to have a gap for the sake of water flow.

Literally every living thing in the tank is now hiding in this void behind the rocks. Would you re-arrange the rocks again or let the poor things be?

    Thanks again,
