Today I got my 1.1 ml dosser. I am now dossing Kalk. I am dosing for 5 min every hour. After every dose I find my PH drop. This last time it went from 8.07 to 8.03. First it went from 8.09 to 8.07. I read that this was supposed to raise the PH. Neptune Apex PH Prob

I am dosing from a 2 liter bottle that is RO/DI with in Teaspoon of Kalk.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks. Scott

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
If your ph is above 8.0 and not dropping below 7.8 at night you really do not need to be dosing.

Your Ca is too high and I would for sure stop the kalk.

Your numbers look better than before you started the dosing, if it is not broken do not fix it, that is the best advice I can give.

Alk reflect the hardness if your water, it's ability to buffer and maintain a stable pH.

How many stony corals do you have, what is the utilization of your tank?

Do you have a magnesium level?

Do you think I should do a water change to bring the alk, ca, ma, down. I have the about 30gal of salt and about 40gal of RO/DI on hand.

    Nice tank scottmwoods.

If the corals and fish do not looks stressed it's all good. I would however figure out what your pH swing between early am before the lights come on and at the end of the lighting period just to figure out the swing.
