I use kent superbuffer dkh with great results. You just have to make sure you mix it in fresh ro/di water not tank water.
also you can use banking soda.just use the calculators link to find out how much.

I like the ESV 2 part.

part one is pH/Alk, part 2 is Ca.

If your PH is in check and you only want to raise Alk , Sea Chems "Reef Builder" targets just the Alk. Bi weekly doses of the reccomended amounts keeps my tank pretty stable at about 10. Their "Reef Buffer" product targets Alk and PH if you need help keeping both up. Im sure the pros will chime in with other methods or products , but this has been working well for me so far .

Im not sure, Ive been trying to find the answer also. My tank doesnt drop real fast but I definately need to dose small amounts 2-3 times a week to keep it stable. I guess our tanks are comsuming the alkalinity that fast . If there is someone that might know another reason for Alk to drop that fast, youre input would be greatly apprecieated ...

Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and 20 Mule Team Laundry Booster. Mix it 4 to 2 and it will raise your ALK. You don't need to buy the expensive stuff unless you want to throw money away. I would save it for equipment and livestock. :)

Thanks for the Info Otty , I only have a 24gal tank and a container of SeaChem is about a 3-6 month supply for me at $7 .... But I could see where with a larger tank it could add up fast ... I'll keep that reciepe in my notes for my next project commomg soon ...

I mixed about 1 cup of A&H to 1/2 cup 20 Mule Team and it raised about 310g 8dKH.
