    For a safer but for expensive way, yes, stick with 2 part. However, I have had several kalk overdoses on my home system but it had about 250g of water. There was some die off but after a week or so, my new growth was amazing.


    For me, it just boils down to accurate testing of Ca, Alk, pH and supplementing based on equipment and budget.

    Here are my 3 steps to Kalk supplementing.

    1. Don't dose anything without testing unless you are very experienced

    2. Don't Drip Kalk with 5 gallon buckets in tanks smaller thank 150g w/o constant monitoring of pH

    3. All you really need is a Kalk reactor, pH montior (reversed setting), and dosing pump. Toss the Ca reactor.
