Dosing, need suggestions and help

    Calcium and magnesium can wait, until you start dabbling in stony corals (FWIW the only genii of corals in my tank are acropora, montipora, and acanthastrea with a random gorg and plate coral, and I have over 50 different pieces, my tank is soft coral and pocillapora free ;)). Phosphates are a handy test, however IME they don't inhibit color and growth in softies as much as they do in SPS and LPS. They do influence algae growth however.

    agreed, with what live stock you mentioned you will not need to dose anything if you keep up with your water change schdule.... if ever you do decide to go down that path however do not ever forget the golden rule: dont dose what you dont test!

    I wouldn't feel good about putting anything in my tank that I couldn't test.

    I'm going to get my clown pair tonight:)
