So guys, I'm very new to the hobby, just got my first coral, I was reading around ont e forums and got some help from packleader and reefsparky. Reefsparky suggested I get some calcium and magnesium supplements as calcium seems close to nonexistant in my tank, while browsing I saw a doser pump. Looking at the design it looks like a feeding pump for people who have peg tubs to their stomach and use liquid feeding.

I got my hands on a feeding pump and tried it out last night, just going off what I've seen from a dosing pump.

I can set it from 1-300 ML per hour, the duration of time for the feeding (dosing), and the total amount that will be fed.

It has a bag that the liquid goes in to and works more or less like an IV. The bags are disposable so there's no risk of any kind of contanmination from me using it.

Can anyone see any problems arising?

    It would appear so.

    Is that a problem?

Should be fine........ Peristaltic pumps are commonly used for the dosing application in the hobby.
