I don't know how many total cups you are saying, but the BRS instructions indicate that a total of 8 cups of material to one gallon of RODI.

8 cups of Mg material in one gallon of RODI will not stay entirely in solution and needs to be reshaken between uses.

The instructions I have say at the bottom that this is normal...

You can do Kalk with ATO.... but pretty darn hard dosing either 2 part by means of evaporation. You really need to go by measured doses. Tanks can evaporate at different rates day to day week to week. Not a good way to dose chemicals. Obviously if everything is steady, and you figured out your consumption, and figured out how much you need to dose per RO resivoir... ya, it can be done, but much more work than just figuring out a dose.

alright everyone is beating around the bush here with the right answers.

2 in 10 was closest... When you mix ca and mag you will be fine... but at above pH 6 the ca and mag will start reacting with any alk and will start to form calcium or magnesium carbonate (the precipitate you see on the bottom).
So if you were to want to do this, you would have to keep the pH below 6 at room temperature. This poses a problem though because you will then be adding pretty acidic top off water and most likely an abundance of carbon source from buffering it to below 6.

By mixing all three like that you are essentially WASTING the ingredients as they are binding together and then settling out in your top off container.

    Ok everyone is getting close

It is normal for that to happen and is why you don't want to mix them.
It is because the calcium and alkalinity supplements are reacting. They combine together when there concentration gets high enough. They basically fall out of the water and make limestone. So you are wasting supplements.

close guys, but to clear it up. if you mix them, it will fall out and make limestone

    :p:p:p

I'm kidding. It's been said a few times in different ways
