    Hey all,
I was wondering what dosing schedule you use? I remember reading in the past somewhere where someone recommended doseing mag at night, calcium and alk during the day.
Im more so referencing the people not using reactors, but using dosing pumps/drip methods etc., however if you did at once dose prior to reactors your contributins are welcomed, or have any knowledge on the matter.
I'd like to hear your opinions, thoughts, recommendations and any additional information you could provide.
Also maybe a quick link if theres a similar thread i missed.
I have acuired some soft coral frags lately from a friend and an prepparing my self for the next step in maintaining: Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium and PH. I have yet to pick up any test kits so i plan to do so soon as well.
I am currently reading through this thread, but the short term budget does permit any fancy equipment any time soon.

Thanks in advance, happy reefing !

Alk is usually dosed at night, while calcium/magnesium is dosed during the day. This is because alk will help stabilize pH, which tends to drop overnight on systems that don't have a RDC refugium due to the lack of photosynthesis, and thus lower oxygen levels.

If pH overnight isn't a problem for you, then don't worry about it. But you should test your water one day, once near the end of the lights on cycle, and once near the end of the night cycle, and compare, to find out.

I autodose alk nightly around midnight and cal daily around lunch time.

I dose Mg about once every 4-6 weeks whenever is convenient.

I agree with above 2 posts
    and will say that

I always dosed Alk at night, and Calc in the morning
its a good idea to spread the dosing of different supplements IME so there are not to many changes occuring within to short a time frame
with dosing pump systems its easy, timers are set and it happens automatically when you want it to
with manual systems you have to mess about with the timings yourself to accomodate work, school, rounds of golf, overnight fishing trips etc.
