Good morning all. Quick question. What is the norm for additives to the water mixed up for a water change? I usually check the mag, alk, ph, calcium and of course salinity and adjust them to match my tank parameters. Is this how most do it? I know it is probably a simple question but one I have been wondering about. Thanks.

Maybe a simple question but I'm glad you asked it, K+1. I would have just checke the salinity. What are you guys doing to adjust mag, alk, pH, and calcium of the replacment water before adding it tot he tank?

I just do a salinity and temperature check. I use Reef Crystals as my mix so some of the other parameters are in theory already matched. I then check my params in the main tank later in the day after all has settled. I adjust from there.

Thank you. I was under the impression that as little change in parameters, the better. That was why I was trying to match my tank's chemistry versus my change water.
