What is the most commonly used dosing product? What do most people dose? & Why?

I currently do not dose anything, but wanted to learn more about the benefits and drawbacks. Also, there are a lot of products so I'm trying to find ones that are proven effective.

I will tell you what I dose and why

    I previously dosed
    Seachem advantage Calcium
    Seachem reef builder
    Seachem advanced magnesium

I still use the advantage calcium
I have switched to Kents coral builder for alkalinity - simply because this product does not precipitate to the same degree as the Seachem alkalinity supplement
this means my dosing lines stay free of sediment and my cannisters show me that this product remains in solution for longer than the Seachem product did
they are both on a par in terms of what they deliver
thus I made the change simply because having the clear the lines for fear of them interfering with my dosing pumps mechanics

after a couple of years with SPS experience, its been the case for me that magnesium utilisation has been minimal
as the Seachem product is mostly magnesium sulphate (epsom salts) with sodium chloride
after studying the subject I became aware that continued dosing of Mag sulphate and not adding any mag chloride, could become an issue long term
so in addition to Seachem advantage Magnesium, due to fact utilisation is low, I periodically dose with Brightwells Magnesion, which is a balanced mag sulphate and chloride additive

I use the above products becuase

Bulk Reef Supply would cost me a fortune in shipping costs, even if they could ship to my location
and Mrs Wages pickling lime, or Arm and Hammer baking soda, are not popular choices for the shelves of the supermarkets I visit

I have a predominant LPS tank so is the most important supplement calcium to build growth? So maybe Seachem advantage calcium

Anyone use the Red Sea Reef Care Program products?

if your dosing Calcium due to demand, your test kits indicating there is a need to
then you will almost certainly need to be dosing alkalinity also
