    Hello everyone,

    Can anyone tell me which brands of Double Ended Metal Halide Bulbs I should buy for my Coralife Aqualight Pro 48" 250W HQI?

    Should I go with 10000°K or 20000°K. FYI, I have no clue what the differences between 10000, 15000 and 20000.

    Ushio HQI AQ
    - 250 watt 10000°K

    Hikari Arcadia
    - 250 watt 14000°K

    Hamilton Technologie
    - 250 watt 10000°K

    Aqualine Buschke
    - 250 watt 20000°K
    - 250 watt 13000°K

    Current USA PowerPaq Series
    - 250 watt 10000°K
    - 250 watt 14000°K

    XM HQI
    - 250 watt 10000°K
    - 250 watt 15000°K
    - 250 watt 20000°K

    I’m very new to the hobby and if you have other brands to recommend please do. The information is taken from Drs Foster and Smith. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Crisp Blue - 10,000k representing 10-30 Ocean Depth Feet (ODF)
    Mid Sea Blue - 14,000k representing 30-60 Ocean Depth Feet (ODF)
    Deep Sea Blue - 20,000k representing 60-90 Ocean Depth Feet (ODF)

    what do they mean by representing 30-60 Ocean Depth Feet?
